occupational therapy in northeast los angeles

Getting Started

Starting services should feel clear, not overwhelming. While each service page goes into detail about what therapy looks like, this page outlines the simple steps to begin working together and what families can generally expect along the way.

All services begin with a complimentary 15-minute consultation to determine whether we’re a good fit, followed by completion of intake paperwork. From there, evaluations or sessions are scheduled based on the service selected. For sensory and feeding services, this includes a comprehensive evaluation, a written report, and a virtual caregiver session to review findings and recommendations. Transition to Solids services follow a simpler structure, with sessions scheduled based on your family’s needs and goals.

how it works

a little bit about

Before services begin, families complete all intake forms, including consent forms and credit card authorization. When helpful, I collaborate with other providers involved in your child’s care and review relevant records to ensure a coordinated, thoughtful approach.

Evaluation sessions often involve structured testing, but they’re designed to be child-friendly and flexible. Breaks are built in, and younger children may receive small prizes or encouragement to help the experience feel positive and supportive.

For ongoing occupational therapy, the first few sessions focus on building rapport and trust. This is an essential part of treatment, even if it doesn’t always look like traditional therapy at first. As your child becomes more comfortable, sessions naturally adjust to support their progress and evolving needs.

What to expect

first things first

Fees vary depending on the service provided. Initial evaluations typically range from $750–$2,500, depending on the type of evaluation and scope required. Ongoing occupational therapy treatment is offered in-home at $225 per session or virtually at $175 per session. Annual re-evaluations include Regular OT Re-Evaluations starting at $850 and Feeding Re-Evaluations at $400. Transition to Solids coaching is available in-home at $175 per session or virtually at $125 per session.

There are no travel fees for in-home services within Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Glendale, Glassell Park, Atwater Village, Highland Park, La Cañada, La Crescenta, Echo Park, and Altadena. For services outside these areas, travel fees start at $50.

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care may cost. A Good Faith Estimate outlines the expected charges for non-emergency services for individuals who are uninsured or choosing to pay privately. Your estimate will be provided in writing before services begin and is based on the information available at the time. Please note that actual charges may vary depending on your child’s needs and services provided. If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.

Fees

Caregiver participation is highly encouraged to support carryover between sessions. Rather than assigning formal home programs, I focus on helping families understand the why behind recommendations so strategies can be adapted naturally into daily routines.

To support ongoing collaboration and communication, families receive:
  • Quarterly 30-minute caregiver virtual check-ins at no additional cost
  • Progress reports with updated goals every 6 months
  • Re-evaluations every 12 months, when appropriate
