Occupational therapy sessions are active, playful, and intentionally designed to meet your child where they are. Using movement, sensory-rich activities, and just-right challenges, therapy helps strengthen the foundations that support daily life — from self-regulation and attention to confidence in movement, social engagement, and school participation. Caregiver partnership is built into every step so you feel supported in understanding your child’s needs and carrying strategies into everyday routines.

Evaluation & Assessment

All sensory work starts with a comprehensive evaluation using the Evaluation of Ayres Sensory Integration® (EASI): the only current published assessment that measures all areas of sensory integration and processing. The EASI may be used in conjunction with other assessments.

A comprehensive, evidence-based approach to understanding and supporting how your child processes and responds to sensory information. Services begin with a full assessment and continue with individualized occupational therapy designed to strengthen regulation, coordination, and participation in daily life activities.

  • Addressing food selectivity based on texture, color, and sensory preferences
  • Improving oral-motor skills for safe chewing and swallowing
  • Support with straw drinking or open-cup drinking
  • Transitioning to a wider range of textures
  • Collaborative tube-weaning (requires partnership with a gastroenterologist and registered dietitian)

Sessions cover everything you need to feel confident and prepared, including recommended first foods, safety and choking prevention, oral-motor development, and how to structure family mealtime routines. We’ll also review feeding gear, texture progression, and cup or straw introduction, with real practice and hands-on support during sessions.
