Designed for children 6 months to 6 years (older children seen case-by-case), this service uses a gentle, responsive feeding approach rooted in safety, collaboration, and child autonomy.
Between sessions, we’ll stay in touch about what foods to prepare, what to try, and how to build on what’s going well.
Feeding support is collaborative and low-pressure. A session usually starts with regulatory play to help your child transition to the table. All of us (child, caregivers, and therapist) sitting and eating together. We begin with a safe, familiar food, and then begin to slowly introduce challenges.
This 90-minute visit includes observation of an actual meal or snack, and may include a short sensory assessment. It involves observational assessments and parent questionnaires. We'll discuss ahead, but may want to observe certain textures, utensils, cups, and challenging foods. This is a hands-off, responsive observation to understand your child’s cues and patterns. Within two weeks after the assessment, you’ll receive a report summarizing findings and recommendations, followed by a 30-minute call to review results and discuss treatment.
Before beginning treatment, we meet with caregivers to review goals, share observations, and collaborate on a plan.
We start with a consult call, followed by intake paperwork to understand your child’s history and needs.
