Guided transition-to-solids support for infants and toddlers in los angeles

Transition to Solids

The transition from milk to solids is exciting... and sometimes overwhelming

Introducing solids isn’t just about food; it’s a doorway into your baby’s growing world. A supported transition helps your little one build the oral-motor skills they’ll use for eating, talking, and exploring new textures, while also strengthening their confidence and curiosity around mealtimes.

Most of all, learning how to introduce solids safely and intentionally gives you peace of mind, and the sense that you’re offering your baby exactly what they need, right when they need it.

calmer feeding moments, smoother routines, and a baby who feels excited rather than overwhelmed by new experiences

With the right guidance, families often notice:

We talk through what went well, what to try next, and how to keep building skills between sessions. Families may choose to schedule an additional session to explore new foods, troubleshoot challenges, or gain more hands-on support. Most families feel confident after 1–3 sessions.

clean up + next steps

We eat as a family, creating a warm and supportive environment where baby learns by watching and participating.

eating together

We begin by observing a meal while offering real-time guidance to support both confidence and safety. This may include coaching on how to present foods, support oral-motor development, straw and cup drinking, strategies for gagging, pacing, or texture management, or helping baby transition to the table with the family.

Observation Meal

We review your baby’s feeding history, discuss your questions, and plan the foods you’ll offer during the first observation meal.
